Our Mission

Uplift is a community screen-printing program run with youth organisations that we're partnered with around Sydney. We provide young people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness with the opportunity to design and print their own T-shirts.

In 2017, Uplift launched its first pilot as a T-shirt painting workshop, giving disadvantaged young people opportunities to explore their creativity.

The overarching goal of our program was to provide a space for fun and creative expression.

Our Progress

The next ambition is to develop Uplift as fashion label that celebrates the T-shirt designs produced by our young disadvantaged designers, with whom we have worked through our workshops.

In 2018 and 2019, we had the privilege of running our program with various community organisations including Project Youth, Oasis Youth Support Network and Glebe Youth Services, launching workshops for their award-winning After Dark program.

For our programs, we have worked with Arcade Screen Printing, Gildan and Permaset for our T-shirts and environmentally-friendly paint. They were all inspired by our story and eager to collaborate for impact. Our core screen-printing program consisted of a series of 5 workshops, with each workshop happening over the course of 5 weeks, that took participants through the basics of design and printing.
